That's a Piedmont Airplane in the photo! I miss layovers like Norfolk, Roanoke, Louisville, TriCities, Savannah and Charleston, but I have to say that I like to work the long haul flights a lot more than the short hops.

I thought Piedmont's demise pre-dated the gate expansion shown in the photo.
August 4, 1989 was the last day that planes flew with the Piedmont livery, the very next day everything was changed. I was actually working that day on one of the last planes to have a Piedmont paint job. We now have a "heritage" paint job on one of our airbus 319 aircraft.
